From Lamond-Riggs Library
Lamond-Riggs Library has a full calendar of events designed to engage residents of all ages. Below are some of the key programs scheduled for the month of May:
- Story Tapestries: Talk with Your Hands and Tell Your Stories – May 2, 2026, at 11:00AM
- Reading Role models: Celebrating Black men as community readers and leaders – May 13, 2026, at 6:30PM
- This event is part of a larger initiative to encourage literacy in Black men and boys. We are asking for community members to attend this story time training session in May in preparation for June activities. Throughout the month of June, Lamond-Riggs Library would love for men from the Ward 5 community to lead story time sessions.

- Estate Planning Workshop sponsored by DISB – May 19, 2026, at 6:00PM
