1. Hello, given that the Zoning Commission has already approved the rezoning what is the purpose of the meeting? Do you have any information about what the meeting will entail?

   • Hi there, in order to actually build a drive-thru, McDonald’s will need to go through DDOT’s public space permit process. Permits will be needed for curb cuts, other stuff. That is why Chair Hood said during the zoning hearing that he hopes DDOT does not put up any obstacles during public space. Because DDOT does not have to approve permits for McDonald’s to get the curb cuts they will need for the drive-thru. DDOT has denied public space permits for drive-thrus in other parts of the city.

     Counsel for McDonald’s is requesting that the ANC & North Michigan Park Civic Association support the application for public space permits. The civic association will support. I’m sure McDonald’s is expecting the ANC to support given that the ANC supported the rezoning, but neighbors opposed to the drive-thru should still email lall of the ANC commissioners know that they do not support the public space application.
