  1. On behalf of Pepco, we would like to inform you that the Capital Grid Open House Event scheduled for Thursday, March 22 at the LaSalle-Backus Education Campus, 501 Riggs Road, NE, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. has now been postponed due to the inclement weather conditions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we will be in touch with alternative dates soon.

  2. As part of Pepco’s commitment to provide safe, reliable and affordable energy to our customers, we have developed the Capital Grid project. The Capital Grid project is a forward-looking plan that will strengthen the resiliency and increase the reliability of our system. Specifically, the Capital Grid project involves upgrading three existing Pepco substations, building a new substation, and installing a 10-mile underground transmission cable. These improvements will make the electric system in the Capital area less vulnerable to strong storms and other unexpected events.

The purpose of this letter is to invite you to a community meeting where we will discuss the Capital Grid Project and what customers can expect during implementation and construction.

In addition to the Capital Grid project, you will hear information about the Takoma to Sligo Underground Construction project. This project is not related to the Capital Grid project but will take place near your neighborhood as well.
