• Fort Totten Square is a mixed-use development located on Riggs Road NE between 3rd Street and Chillum Place. The developers are the JBG Companies and Lowe Enterprises.
• Construction started in January 2013. The project delivered in 2015.
• The development has approximately 350 rental units, comprised of 75% studios and one-bedroom units and 25% two-bedroom units.
• Amenities in the residential building include two courtyards, a pool, bikeshare/car-share/transit services, a fitness center, and residential programming.
• An approximately 120,000 square foot Walmart anchors the ground floor retail of the development. Ancillary retail includes Subway, Petco (closed), Five Guys, and Culture Coffee Too coffee shop (closed). Wing Stop will open on April 22, 2024, in the space formerly occupied by Culture Coffee Too. • Underground parking is provided for Walmart and an above-grade parking garage is available for residential and non-Walmart retail use.
• JBG has partnered with EYA to develop a second phase across the street from Fort Totten Square, on the southeast corner to Riggs Road and South Dakota Avenue NE, consisting of approximately 160 townhomes and 23,000 square feet of ground floor retail. That project is expected to deliver in 2019 or 2020.
