The University of the District of Columbia’s College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) has established an Urban Food Hub at UDC-CC’s Bertie Backus campus, located at 5171 South Dakota Ave NE (just off Galloway Street NE). The site houses three hoop houses containing a hydroponics and an aquaponics farm. The location also has a compost cooperative, a native plant nursery, a community garden, a farmers market, and a demonstration commercial kitchen incubator.
